Kai means to take apart and make new, to Rebuild or Redo

Zen means to think, to make good actions, to do good deeds

Kaizen is therefore making it easier by taking it apart, studying

it and making improvements through elimination of waste.

Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning “improvement” or “change for better.” The process involves all employees from the CEO to the front-line staff. It grew out of the manufacturing industry and has been applied in healthcare, psychotherapy, life coaching, government and banking. Our partnership with the Kaizen Institute of Canada provides an innovative and effective way to improve process and build capacity for continuous improvement strategies in higher education.

MásAlta builds capacity within the organization and supports the internal processes for continuous improvement. This philosophy allows the educational institution to benefit from international expertise and build its capacity to become self-reliant. Kaizen is as much a philosophy as it is a process. Our model is to introduce the elements of Kaizen into the operational culture.

We begin by orienting leaders to the concepts of Kaizen and selecting a process, identified by the institution, that will be reviewed. During this review, internal staff will be trained to become Lean/Kaizen Greenbelt candidates and subsequently identify their own projects to conduct under the supervision of our Black Belt mentor. Thus, providing your institution with the ability to conduct your own kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
